Russia's RDIF, Sheremetyevo say launch express COVID-19 tests

20.07.2020, Prime

MOSCOW, Jul 20 (PRIME) -- The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport have launched a pilot express COVID-19 tests using the Evotech-Mirai Genomics tests, the RDIF and Sheremetyevo said in a joint statement on Monday.

Testing lasts 60 minutes and is available in Terminal B for domestic flights from Monday and in Terminal D for domestic and international flights from Sunday.

RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev said, as cited in the statement that the test will help create virus-free zones in the airport. "We hope that Sheremetyevo’s successful experience will become a benchmark for other large airports across the globe," he said.

A spokesperson for Moscow's airport Vnukovo said that the airport plans to launch virus antibodies testing later in the week in Terminal A. The service was earlier available only in the hospital of the airport. Testing lasts for 15–20 minutes.
